Healthcare Assistant in Ireland with Emeis

In Ireland, Emeis operates a network of nursing homes delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents, with a strong focus on dignity, well-being and community connection.

They have number of Residential Care Homes across Ireland including Kildare, Dublin, Portlaoise, Tipperary, Limerick and Ashbourne. Portlaoise is a lovely town with low cost of living.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide care to residents ensuring their independence is promoted and that residents’ dignity is always maintained. This will involve following your clients care plan - assistance with personal care and mobility.
  • Excellent observational skills are very important.
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with residents and their families.
  • Ensuring resident safety through a high level of observation skills, accurate recording & reporting.
  • Deliver high quality care and assistance to our residents as per their Care Plan – personal care, toileting, moving & transferring.
  • Observe, listen and engage with residents.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Infection Prevention and Control regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • EU nationality/EU Passport (50/50 rule: Irish regulations require that at least 50% of staff in nursing homes are EU citizens). 
  • FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or Equivalent is required to work as a Healthcare Assistant with our group or any experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Intermediate level of English (spoken and written)
  • Availability to work varied shift patterns days, nights & weekends, across Monday to Sunday is essential.
  • Practical experience in a caring capacity desired.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Professional, caring and empathetic nature

Contract & Benefits

  • Relocation package of €750 for candidates relocating to Ireland.

  • Salary range is from €14.15 to €15.20 for HCA role, depending on qualification and/or experience.
  • Premiums for Sundays, nights & Bank holidays.
  • You have 40 h per week on average
  • In 14 days, you have 7x regular shifts of 12h.
