Registered Psychiatric Nurse
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Employment Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Sunday)
Salary: €40,685 – €44,165 per annum (depending on experience)
Role Purpose
This role focuses on delivering high-quality psychiatric nursing care within a recovery-oriented service supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health difficulties, and addiction. The aim is to promote mental health recovery and improve overall quality of life for service users through person-centred, holistic care.
This is an opportunity to join an established multidisciplinary team, contributing to an innovative service designed to support some of the most vulnerable people in Irish society. The role includes collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues and external professionals to strengthen recovery-focused interventions. Flexible working arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the team to design, deliver, and evaluate mental health services and programmes.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, and review individualised, person-centred care plans.
- Advocate for service users, supporting informed decision-making, goal setting, and problem-solving to enhance recovery outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery-oriented approaches, including Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), to support long-term mental health recovery and exit from homelessness.
- Participate in developing clinical protocols, guidelines, and nursing standards.
- Conduct and review risk assessments in line with best practice.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, and awareness of the National Drug Strategy.
- Provide education and information to service users and their families as required.
- Facilitate onward referrals aligned with service users’ goals and needs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, case notes, and monthly reports.

Essential Requirements
- Registered with the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health difficulties, and/or addiction.
- Experience managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
