Role Purpose
To provide a range of speech and language therapy services to children 0 – 18 years and their families who attend Children Network Disability Team, within an interdisciplinary framework and family centred practice and to support other staff and students as assigned.
Incorporates the provision of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) management.
Have the responsibilities of a Mandated Person as outlined in the Childcare Act 2015.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide quality evidence-based Speech & Language Therapy service including assessment of family needs, and a range of advisory, practical and skilled emotional supports the service is provided within the Progressing Disabilities Services for Children and young people (PDS) framework, with interdisciplinary team working and family centred practice at its core.
Essential
- A qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by the Speech and Language Therapy Registration Board at CORU.
- Practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech and Language Therapy Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapy Registration Board at CORU.
- 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
Desirable
- Experience of the inter-disciplinary team working service delivery planning and development is an advantage.
- Experience working with children or adults with complex communication needs is an advantage.
- Experience of working in the area of disabilities is an advantage.
- Experience working with paediatric clients presenting with dysphagia is an advantage.
