Social Care Worker

Cpl Healthcare are delighted to partner with our client in the recruitment of Social Care Workers to join residential services in Laois, including:

  • Mainstream Children’s Residential Services
  • Preparation for Leaving Care (PLC) Services
  • Residential Services for Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP)

This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated and motivated professionals to work directly with young people, supporting their emotional, social, and educational development in a safe and nurturing residential environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in residential settings.

• Implement individual care plans to meet the emotional, social, and educational needs of young people.

• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment in compliance with HIQA standards, child protection policies, and safeguarding legislation.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and external agencies to ensure holistic care.

• Support young people in preparation for leaving care, as appropriate, and facilitate independence skills.

• Participate in reflective practice, training, and professional development.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, or a related discipline (minimum Level 7).

• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in residential childcare.

• Experience across mainstream, PLC, or SCSIP services is desirable.

• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of HIQA regulations, child protection, and safeguarding standards.

• Ability to work with young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Salary

  • 0–2 years experience: €39,936 per annum
  • 2+ years experience: €42,432 per annum
