Perioperative Registered Nurse – Scrub Scout – Plastics / Ortho / Neuro

Applicants must have recent experience in Scrub Scout roles, with exposure to Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery and/or Orthopaedic surgery. Experience across multiple specialties will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care
  • Scrub and scout across a range of surgical specialties
  • Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider perioperative team
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Act as a role model for professional practice and compliance with safety standards
  • Support patient education related to surgical care and recovery

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a perioperative / scrub scout setting
  • Demonstrated experience in Neurosurgery, Plastics and/or Orthopaedics
  • Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-functioning team

Desirable Criteria

  • Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing (or currently working towards)
