Clinical Nurse Manager 2 / Person in Charge (PIC)

Location: Leitrim

Salary: Dependent on Experience (€57,522 to €72,685)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

In-person interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 7th of September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong nurse leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

The Role

You will have overall responsibility for the operational, clinical, and regulatory management of a designated residential service. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive service quality improvements, and ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and governance are maintained.

You will be a proactive and resilient leader with a strong commitment to person-centred care. You will be able to inspire and develop teams, build collaborative relationships, and successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a residential service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Act as the designated Person in Charge (PIC) and ensure full compliance with HIQA regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff to promote a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Oversee risk management, safeguarding, incident management, and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage resources effectively, including staffing, budgets, and service operations.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous service improvement and promote best practice across all aspects of care delivery.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership to ensure safe, evidence-based nursing care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Minimum 3 years' management experience in health or social care.
  • At least 2 years' experience working within intellectual disability services.
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations, and the role of Person in Charge.
  • Proven people management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing resources, budgets, and operational performance.
  • Valid working rights for Ireland.
