CPL Healthcare is proud to support our client in establishing a new Residential Service for adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Laois. We are now seeking an innovative and experienced Person in Charge (PIC) who is passionate about shaping services, driving change, and delivering high-quality, person-centred supports.

 

This is a unique opportunity for a leader who thrives on development, growth, and service transformation. As PIC, you will play a central role in the setup, design, and rollout of this new residential service—ensuring the environment, practices, and culture are built to the highest standards from day one.

You will influence everything from staff recruitment and training to policy implementation, service structure, and resident support planning. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a lasting impact and contribute to meaningful, positive change within disability services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and commissioning of the new residential service.
  • Develop and implement systems, processes, and practices that reflect best standards and HIQA requirements.
  • Play an active role in service design, change management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, guide, and develop a committed staff team aligned with the service’s vision and values.
  • Oversee admissions, care planning, safeguarding, and risk management from the outset.
  • Foster a new culture rooted in dignity, respect, independence, and person-centred practice.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA Standards and all statutory regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to shape the long-term direction of the service.

 

Requirements

  • A recognised Social Care, Nursing, or Health and Social Care Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ management/supervisory experience within disability, residential, or social care services.
  • Demonstrated experience in service development, new service setup, or leading meaningful change (highly desirable).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and change-management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of HIQA Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Full driving licence desirable.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
