A leading specialist healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Senior Dietitian to join a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering high-quality nutrition and dietetic services within a specialist mental health setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated clinician with expertise in nutrition, mental health, and eating disorders to play a key role in service delivery and development.
About the Role
The Senior Dietitian will provide specialist nutrition assessment, treatment, education and support to adults and adolescents accessing mental health services. Working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure the delivery of evidence-based dietetic interventions that support recovery, wellbeing and positive clinical outcomes.
The role includes managing a complex caseload, contributing to service development initiatives, providing clinical education, and supporting quality improvement activities within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist nutrition and dietetic assessment, advice and interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload across adult and adolescent services.
- Provide nutritional assessment, refeeding guidance and recovery-focused meal planning for individuals with eating disorders.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions for conditions including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, therapists and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, audits and policy development.
- Provide training and nutrition education to healthcare professionals, service users and families.
- Develop and evaluate educational resources and clinical materials.
Essential Requirements
- BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or a related science discipline.
- Master's degree in Dietetics.
- Registration with CORU as a Dietitian and commitment to maintaining registration.
- Membership of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI).
- Minimum of three years' post-graduate clinical dietetics experience.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with adolescents.
- Experience within mental health services.
- Experience supporting individuals with eating disorders, including nutritional assessment and intervention.
- Knowledge of behaviour change techniques and motivational interviewing.
- Additional professional development or specialist training in eating disorders.
