Senior Mammographer - Dublin

Senior Mammographer are required by Cpl Healthcare in Dublin to assist in the provision of an efficient, effective and caring Mammography and Breast imaging service in this teaching department in line with the hospital’s Mission Statement 

and the Patients Charter.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To organise/supervise/perform Mammography imaging/interventional procedures according 

to any protocols provided, and to supervise other staff, as appropriate

• To assist in the daily operational management of the services

• To maintain high standards of patient care, clinical practice and safety

• To keep abreast of, and embrace where appropriate, current techniques and developments 

particularly in relation to specialised imaging modalities.

• To assist in the education and training of staff as appropriate, as well as undergraduate and 

postgraduate students and encourage professional development 

• To adhere to all Health & Safety Guidelines and all Whole Hospital and Department PPGs.

• To ensure that Radiation Protection Rules are applied at all times and to be familiar with and 

comply with National Ionising Radiation Legislation

• To be observant in relation to equipment faults and errors and to report all defects or 

occurrences to the Clinical Specialist or a member of the Radiography Service Manager 

Team.

• To participate in all Clinical Audit & Quality Improvement Programmes as required

• To attend relevant post-graduate courses and to undertake/assist with research projects

• To adhere to the professional guidelines laid down by the Irish Institute of Radiographers

• To perform all other duties in the Radiology Department or its satellites deemed 

appropriate to the grade by the Radiography Service Manager

• The post holder may be required, from time to time, to deputise for a Clinical Specialist 

Radiographer in his/her area of expertise.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

  • Be registered on the Radiography 
  • Division of the Radiographers 
  • Register maintained by the 
  • Radiographers Registration Board at CORU
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mammography
