Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding Officer, Mental health service

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a leading mental health provider, are recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Social Worker to act in the capacity of Safeguarding Officer within the Social Work Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take on a senior leadership role in safeguarding within a progressive mental health setting.

This is a full-time position, with the successful candidate also holding a clinical caseload on a part-time basis through the provision of senior-level social work support to patients and families.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Social Work and accountable to the Chief Executive, as the Safeguarding Officer you will:

·      Lead the implementation and oversight of hospital safeguarding policies and procedures

·      Act as Designated Liaison Person/Designated Officer for safeguarding matters

·      Provide expert advice and support to multidisciplinary teams

·      Review safeguarding concerns and support the development of safety plans

·      Conduct preliminary screenings and safeguarding audits

·      Monitor and report safeguarding trends to management and relevant committees

·      Deliver safeguarding training at induction and ongoing staff development

·      Promote a positive, inclusive safeguarding culture across the organisation

Essential Criteria:

·      Professionally qualified Social Worker registered with CORU

·      Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification Social Work experience

·      Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice

·      Experience in adult safeguarding and child protection, including managing allegations and serious incidents

·      Experience working in adult mental health services

·      Experience working in acute, hospital settings
