Social Care Worker – Under-18s Residential Services

Locations: Dalkey, Dublin City Centre & Templeogue

Salary: €37,604 – €41,997 depending on experience

Contract Types: Full-Time Permanent & Part-Time Permanent

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, Ireland's leading not-for-profit working to prevent people becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness, is seeking committed and compassionate Social Care Workers to join their Under-18 Residential Services in Dublin. These services support young people aged 15–18 who are out of home and experiencing crisis. Working within a short-term residential setting, you will be part of a dedicated team providing safety, stability, and encouragement as young people take their first steps toward a brighter future.

Your Role:

As a Social Care Worker, you will:

  • Act as Key Worker to allocated young people, building positive relationships and collaborating with external agencies.
  • Develop and implement individualised support programmes, helping young people break the cycle of homelessness and prepare for independent or supported living.
  • Support young people who have experienced trauma and may present with challenging behaviour.
  • Advocate for young people across housing, social work, social welfare, education, training, and legal supports.
  • Refer and support young people in accessing other services that meet their social, emotional, educational, employment, or accommodation needs.
  • Participate in a 24/7 rota, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

What You’ll Need:

  • A CORU-approved Social Care Worker qualification and evidence of CORU registration application OR A relevant Level 8 degree (e.g., Social Care, Psychology, Sociology).
  • Experience working in a children's residential centre or with young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to support and manage young people in crisis who present with challenging behaviours.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and procedures.
  • Understanding of the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) model.
  • Valid working rights for Ireland and a strong level of English.
