A not-for-profit organisation providing essential support to older people and vulnerable adults across North Dublin are seeking a caring and organised Day Care Centre Coordinator to manage the day-to-day running of a well-established Day Centre located in Bonnybrook, Dublin 17. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of older people and supporting those living with dementia to remain active, safe, and connected within their community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery & Client Care ·
  • Provide effective management and oversight of daily operations and service delivery. ·
  • Ensure services are delivered in a dignified, kind and person-centred manner. ·
  • Support independence, autonomy and choice for every client. ·
  • Ensure personal care is delivered sensitively and in line with client needs and preferences.
  • · Ensure infection control and cleanliness standards are fully adhered to. ·
  • Promote safe dementia-friendly practice and ensure clients do not leave unaccompanied. ·
  • Support positive behavioural approaches and de-escalation where appropriate

Requirements

  • QQI Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support or equivalent is essential.
  • QQI Level 6 Certificate in Supervisory Management (or equivalent) is essential.

Experience and skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience working with older people and/or family carers.
  • Experience supporting people living with dementia is essential.
  • Experience in the day-to-day running of a day care centre or similar community-based service is essential. Experience leading staff, volunteers and activity programmes is essential.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and general IT systems.
  • Strong organisational, communication and team leadership skills.
