Responsible for: Provision of Psychiatric Nursing Services
Objective:
To promote mental health recovery and enhance the quality of life for service users.
To work as part of the team in delivering a quality mental health service for individuals living in homelessness.
Overview:
This is a wonderful opportunity for a mental health nurse to be part of an established clinical team developing a unique service aimed at improving the lives and mental health of people experiencing homelessness and addiction.
This role offers flexible working hours.
Main Responsibilities:
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized client, person centred care programs
• Act as an advocate for clients, provide information to empower them in decision making, goal setting and problem solving to optimize their chance of recovery.
• Develop and implement a recovery-based program to support clients into long term mental health
· recovery and out of homelessness (WRAP – Wellness, Recovery Action Plan)
• Participate in the development of protocols and guidelines, and the setting of professional nursing
· standards.
• Contribute to, implement, monitor and review the development of risk assessments for clients
• Have a working knowledge of The Mental Health Act as it applies to the role as well as an understanding of The National Drug Strategy.
• Provide education and information to clients and their families as required.
• Developing, in consultation with clients, flexible and achievable care plans which are person centred and adhere to agreed guidelines.
• Onward referral for service users as required and relevant to their identified goals
• Relevant administrative work such as up-to-date case notes, and monthly reporting.
Qualifications:
• Required:The candidate must be registered in the Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI).
• Desirable:
o Understanding of the issues faced by clients living in homelessness with mental health and/or addiction issues.
o Experience managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
Compensation:
• Salary: €40,685 to 44,165 depending on relevant experience.
• Hours: 37.5 hours full-time.
• Days: Monday to Sunday.
• Location: Riverbank, Open Access Service.
