Senior Speech & Language Therapist – Young Adults Disability Team

Location: Johnstown, Co. Kildare (with one day remote working per week)

Contract: Permanent | 35 hours per week

Salary: €65,197 - €76,767 DOE

Hours: Full-time or Part-time applicants will be considered

 

The Opportunity

Cpl Healthcare in association with our client, a well-established, values-led organisation providing specialist community-based services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and complex support needs. They are currently seeking a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join their established interdisciplinary Young Adults Disability Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with young adults aged 18-26 with complex disability needs across a range of day services, home environments and community settings throughout Dublin, South Kildare and West Wicklow. You'll become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to delivering person-centred, evidence-based care that empowers individuals to achieve their goals.

 

The Role

As the Senior Speech & Language Therapist, you will manage your own caseload while working closely with colleagues across the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality clinical services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and prioritising a diverse clinical caseload.
  • Completing comprehensive Speech & Language Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Developing person-centred intervention plans based on clinical reasoning and individual goals.
  • Providing education, training and support to families, carers and frontline staff.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborative case planning.
  • Delivering consultations and contributing to team formulation.
  • Supporting the ongoing development and evaluation of the service, including quality improvement and research initiatives.
  • Maintaining effective caseload management and clinical documentation.
  • Travelling between service locations across the region as required.

 

Specific Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • Current CORU registration.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Experience supporting young people or adults with complex disabilities.
  • Experience with Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) assessment and intervention.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience delivering person-centred services and supporting service development.
  • A full, clean driver's licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland without requiring sponsorship.
