Head of Facilities -Dublin
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is currently recruiting a Head of Facilities to work as part of the leadership team. Our client is a large nursing home group with nursing homes across Dublin and Leinster.
The Head of Facilities will lead both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of all facilities services across our clients 10 nursing home locations. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective management of maintenance, health and safety, regulatory compliance, capital development projects, contractor performance, sustainability initiatives, and the overall efficiency of buildings and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability, solid technical knowledge, and a proven track record managing facilities in healthcare, residential care, hospitality, or another highly regulated environment.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a senior facilities management position.
- Proven experience overseeing multi-site operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, building compliance standards, and contractor management.
- Experience managing budgets and delivering capital projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites as required
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Leadership & Operations
- Lead and coordinate facilities management services across all locations.
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance programmes for buildings, plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Ensure all facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with relevant regulations.
- Oversee maintenance works, repairs, refurbishments, and improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Health and Safety
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety legislation, fire safety standards, environmental regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Maintain and manage all statutory inspections, certifications, and maintenance documentation.
- Support regulatory audits and inspections.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational and facilities-related risks.
Projects & Capital Works
- Manage facility upgrades, refurbishment programmes, and capital expenditure projects.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage facilities budgets.
- Track expenditure and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies while maintaining high service standards.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
