Person in Charge (PIC) – Intellectual Disability Services

📍 Meath

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Person in Charge (PIC) to lead residential services supporting people with an intellectual disability.

This is a key leadership role where you will oversee designated centres, support and develop teams, and ensure residents are empowered to live with dignity, choice and independence. The PIC plays a central role in maintaining high standards of care, regulatory compliance and continuous service improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day‑to‑day operation of designated residential services in line with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007
  • Ensure safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care is consistently delivered
  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory, legislative and organisational requirements
  • Provide leadership, supervision and support to staff, promoting a positive and professional team culture
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families and external stakeholders
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • Nursing Degree with NMBI registration (or eligibility) or Level 8 Degree in Social Care
  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience within the health or social care sector
  • Recognised management qualification (minimum Level 6 NFQ)
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, person‑centred planning and clinical governance
  • Experience working with people with an intellectual disability
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
