Senior Physiotherapist Peadiatric - Dublin
In partnership with the HSE, Cpl Healthcare are recruiting for a Senior Physiotherapist in Peadiatric, based in Rowlagh Health Centre, Clondalkin.
Job Purpose
The Senior Physiotherapist in Child Primary Care will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children presenting with developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal needs.
You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Child Primary Care service, including mentoring junior staff, supporting service improvement initiatives, and participating in multidisciplinary case discussions.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to children with a range of physical and developmental needs, including motor delay, neurodevelopmental disorders, and postural or mobility difficulties.
- Formulate and implement individualised, family-centred care plans that promote optimal functional outcomes.
- Monitor progress, review outcomes, and adjust treatment goals as appropriate.
- Advise and educate parents, caregivers, and school staff in implementing home and school-based exercise and positioning programmes.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and other team members in multidisciplinary planning and intervention.
- Contribute to early intervention programmes and developmental screening clinics as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HSE policies and professional standards.
- Participate in child protection and safeguarding processes as appropriate.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to junior physiotherapists, students, and physiotherapy assistants.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing paediatric physiotherapy delivery.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain specialist paediatric knowledge and skills.
- Participate in team meetings, peer review, and case conferences to ensure integrated service delivery.
Candidate Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
- CORU registration as a Physiotherapist (essential).
- Minimum of three years post-graduate clinical experience, including at least one year working with children or in a relevant area such as early intervention, neurodevelopmental, or community services.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in assessing and managing children with developmental delay, neurological conditions, and musculoskeletal concerns.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a family-centred approach to care.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Full clean driver's licence and access to a car for community visits.
