Senior Social Care Worker (Team Leader) – Day Service
Location: Tallaght, Dublin
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week
Salary: €43,283 – €51,722

The Role
The Senior Supervisor will play a key leadership role within the Day Service, supporting both the people who use the service and the staff team delivering day-to-day supports. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centred service delivery while providing guidance, supervision, and operational leadership to frontline staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Social Care and Support Workers within the Day Service.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred supports in line with individual support plans and organisational values.
  • Promote the rights, independence, dignity, and inclusion of the people supported.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff through regular supervision and performance management processes.
  • Manage team rotas and staffing resources effectively to meet service requirements.
  • Coordinate and chair team meetings, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of person-centred plans, risk assessments, and care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Social Care, Social Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification recognised in Ireland).
  • Minimum of one year's recent experience supporting individuals with complex support needs within a Social Care setting.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team within a care or support environment.
  • Strong understanding of current legislation, regulations, and best practice within the Social Care sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of autism and person-centred approaches to support.
  • Experience managing staff rotas and coordinating service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound decision-making skills.
  • Full manual driving licence.
  • Full permission to work in Ireland.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within disability or autism-specific services.
  • Experience leading service improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to disability services.
