Speech and Language Therapist
Location: County Wicklow (with travel across Leinster required)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (12 Months)
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week

The Role
The successful candidate will provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy supports to autistic adults and individuals with additional support needs across a range of settings. Working collaboratively with service users, families, support staff, and multidisciplinary colleagues, the Speech and Language Therapist will play a key role in promoting communication, participation, independence, and quality of life.
This position is primarily based in County Wicklow, with regular travel required to services across Leinster.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and review person-centred therapy plans and communication supports.
- Complete competency and communication assessments to support individualised care planning.
- Provide recommendations and guidance to staff teams to ensure communication needs are effectively supported.
- Support individuals to develop communication skills, self-advocacy, and greater independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in accordance with professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional guidelines, and organisational policies.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current registration with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience working within adult disability services, ideally supporting autistic individuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel.
- Full permission to work in Ireland.
