Staff Grade Occupational Therapist - Potlaoise

Staff Grade Occupational Therapists required by CPL Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for opportunity to work as part of the Occupational Therapy Team in Spraoi Children’s Disability Network Team, St. Fintan’s Campus, Portlaoise Co. Laois.

Children’s Disability Network Teams provide interdisciplinary team support to children with complex disability needs from birth to 18yrs within network areas. We provide care through a Family Centred Model and are part of the Midlands, Louth and Meath Social Care Division of Care in the HSE. Spraoi Children’s Disability Network Team provides support to children living in the South Laois Community Health Network area.

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy service to a designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the CDNM

Job Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and review of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to service standards
• Collaborate with service users, family, careers and other staff in treatment / intervention planning and in the provision of support and advice
• Plan discharge or transition of the service user between services as appropriate
• Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries in accordance with local service and professional standards

The candidate: 

• A recognized qualification as an Occupational Therapist with CORU registration
• Permission to work in Ireland
• Professional approach to work
• Flexibility in work practice
• Manual handling training completed
